Healthy attitude to recyclable packaging

News | June 30, 2021

Science Supplements Recyclable Pouch Packshot

Pet and equine nutrition specialists Science Supplements, which have their headquarters in Northamptonshire, have announced that as part of an ongoing commitment to reducing plastic consumption, the company will be transitioning to recyclable pouches for the majority of the product range.

The change will result in a reduction of up to 70% volume of plastic used and is a significant step in reducing the impact that plastic packaging has on the environment.

Science Supplements manufacture an award-winning range of quality horse and dog supplements, based on the latest scientific research and data. The company has produced peer-reviewed research and the team includes a host of industry experts as well as two veterinary surgeons.

Horse Care Packshot Shampoo Spray

All products are manufactured to a strict code of feed safety in their own approved UFAS licensed premises using quality ingredients, and includes products developed to aid joints and mobility, digestion, respiratory problems and general all-round wellbeing.

In addition, Racing Edge are scientifically formulated products designed and developed for the racing industry, these products are formulated to individual requirements, and are not available as off-the-shelf products.

Science Supplements already use 100% post-consumer recycled plastics for their range of shampoos and sprays and this additional step further enhances their commitment to not only market-leading products, but also market-leading environmental action.

David Mitson, Group CEO, said: “I am proud that we were the first company in our sector to use 100% post-consumer recycled plastics and I am even more delighted that we have taken yet another leap forward in reducing the impact that single use plastic has on our environment.”
