Sir Trevor McDonald

Newsreader and journalist Sir Trevor McDonald will be the host of this year’s Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards.

Best known for his time at ITN, where he presented News at Ten and Tonight with Trevor McDonald, he will be at The County Ground in Northampton on Thursday, November 25 to present the awards to the winners and celebrating the best of the local business community.

Knighted for his services to journalist in 1999, Sir Trevor McDonald was born in Trinidad and Tobago where he worked as a print and broadcast journalist until he moved to London to work for BBC Radio, broadcasting to the Caribbean.

Since stepping down from News at Ten in 2008 he has become known for his work on documentaries, many focusing on the theme of crime, including Fred & Rose West: The Real Story with Trevor McDonald, in 2019.

As well as hosting the evening, Sir Trevor will also be announcing the 12 awards, which range from Apprentice of the Year, through Businessman and Businesswoman of the Year, to Marketing Campaign of the Year. After moving online for a year, the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards 2021 return to The County Ground, where the organisers, finalists, sponsors and guests will get a chance to get together and celebrate in person once again.
