Get more out of half-term this February at Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park, the former top-secret home of Britain’s World War Two Codebreakers and now a vibrant museum and visitor attraction, has a packed calendar this February half-term. Free for the under-12s, there is plenty on offer for a full fun day out for all the family.

The week-long holiday sees the popular return of codebreaking games, challenges and craft sessions for children, in the very place where some of the most secret codes and cyphers of WW2 were broken. The theme is ‘Ones and Zeros’ exploring how the Codebreakers used a number system known as binary to their advantage.*

Talks and tours are also available to discover more about the people behind the machines that helped break the Enigma cipher at Bletchley Park. Taking place on 17th, 21st and 22nd February, on the interactive family tours visitors will learn some surprising new facts, explore everyday life at Bletchley Park in 1941 and might even take part in some secret war work.**

There might be a bit of a chill in the air, but there is plenty to do for a full day out exploring the grounds including an interactive kids’ multimedia guide and a top-secret mission pack.

Even rain doesn’t have to spoil your fun, as there’s still plenty to do indoors following in the footsteps of the 10,000 people who worked at Bletchley Park and its Bombe Outstations by visiting the unique Bletchley Park Mansion and restored wartime huts and blocks.

Catherine Holden, Learning Manager at Bletchley Park said: “We are constantly changing our hands-on activities and workshops to encourage families to interact with each other by enjoying a puzzle, game or craft. There is something for everyone at Bletchley Park.”

The popular 25-acre heritage site offers plenty of space, a children’s playground, as well as on-site catering with hot and cold food and drink.

Tickets can be booked in advance at and visitors only need to pay for entry once to enjoy a free annual pass allowing them to return again and again to enjoy free on-site activities, one-day events and changing displays.

Residents living within 10-mile radius of Bletchley Park can also take advantage of 50% off tickets until 31st December 2020.***
