182 years. That is how long DFA Law have been providing legal services, and during that time Commercial Property Law has changed significantly since DFA Law formed, and as we approach the 2nd half of 2020, Mark Brown, who is a Partner and heads up the Commercial Property offering is very proud of his team, he said, “We act for a number of clients, and in some cases have done so for generations, starting with commercial leases and tenancies through to site development and disposals, and the team here have a wealth of knowledge and skills to advise all of our clients throughout the process.”
Whilst historically DFA Law are perhaps more well known for Corporate, Litigation, Employment Law, Residential Conveyancing and Business Recovery work they are particularly strong in Commercial Property and one of the very first transactions that DFA Law carried out 182 years ago was a commercial property transaction. Like many businesses, some transactions are more straight forward than others, but Commercial Property can have unusual circumstances, as there are often multiple parties involved, and some projects, particularly involving land developments and land owners can have time restrictions and penalties, which is why the experience sets DFA Law apart from other legal firms. “We prefer it when we are involved from the outset. We approach each client with a transparent approach, and using our many years of experience, our clients can learn from that as we have dealt with extremely complex and time sensitive cases through to the standard transaction” Mark added.
Mark and his team act for a wide range of clients and advise on a variety of property transactions.
In particular, they have extensive knowledge of commercial property matters acting on behalf of both landlords and tenants, including private individuals, small businesses, national companies, pension funds and charities in regards to their business lease requirements. DFA also advise on property financing arrangements, working with both mainstream and alternative lenders in relation to the purchase, disposal and refinancing of freehold and leasehold property.
Mark himself has vast experience in the acquisition and disposal of land, acting for a diverse portfolio of developers and landowners, and specialises in site acquisitions and developments incorporating joint ventures, promotion agreements, conditional contracts and overage provisions.
Some recent feedback from a commercial lease client, based at Park Farm Industrial Estate, Wellingborough said; “I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks for your help in getting the lease sorted, you were positive and proactive throughout the process.
It was a pleasure working with you and you are a credit to DFA Law - we wouldn’t hesitate in using DFA Law in the future.”
Commercial property deals, regardless of size, can be stressful. DFA Law has the experience and knowledge to be with you from the beginning, through to the end, ensuring that the legal process runs as smoothly as possible.
