Northampton high school celebrates inspection report

‘Pupils’ academic and other successes are excellent’ celebrates the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) Inspection Report, published today, Friday 17 January.

The team of inspectors, who spent three days in the school in November 2019 conducting a Focused Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection, conclude ‘the quality of the pupils’ personal development is excellent’; the report continues ‘the social development of the pupils is excellent’.

The report states that all standards requirements of the Regulatory Compliance Inspection are met and confirms ‘pupils show a strong appreciation and respect for the diverse cultures represented’ and ‘pupils throughout the school make excellent contributions to the school and the wider community’.

Inspectors noted a number of particular strengths of the school: ‘There is an excellent awareness from all pupils as to their moral obligations to each other, themselves and the school to be the best they can be each day’. The report continues ‘Pupils show that they are highly capable of working in groups and teams, and show exceptional social awareness as they take great care to consider others as they work together’.

Furthermore, inspectors reported that ‘Pupils of all ages show extremely positive attitudes to learning’, identifying that ‘Pupils have excellent communication skills, and collaborative working is a strength of the school; [pupils] are at ease with each other and

with their teachers, and this creates an environment in which they feel they can communicate in a relaxed and non-judgemental atmosphere’.

Mrs Caroline Petryszak, Head of Northampton High School, said, “We are delighted that the hard work of pupils, parents, staff, governors and the wider school community has been acknowledged in the glowing ISI Report on our school.”

She comments, “We are pleased the report demonstrates the focused yet warm nature of the school and duly reflects the high quality professional education for girls from age 2 to 18, highlighting the dedication of both staff and pupils. Northampton High’s stimulating environment is enriched by the diversity of the school community, contributing to pupils’ academic achievement and excellent personal growth and development”.
