A local 17-year-old athlete from Northampton has made a big impression on the world athletics stage, after competing in the British Athletics Championships in Manchester. Georgie Forde-Wells competed in the triple jump at the showpiece event, televised live on the BBC on Saturday 5th September, and was the youngest competitor in her event, jumping to her outdoor personal best in the process.

The young student, who attends Northampton High School in Hardingstone, competed against athletes 10 years her senior at the prestigious competition, and will only grow from the experience having competed against the best athletes in the country. Georgie, who is also a talented netballer for the Loughborough Lightning, will be rightfully proud of her exceptional performance, and we look forward to following her career with interest for many years to come.
