As we face the unprecedented challenges posed by the impact of the Coronavirus on our business communities, the team at Northamptonshire Chamber is working tirelessly to support Chamber members through this difficult period.
The Chamber is available to answer members’ questions, to support them through difficulties, to help them keep on trading wherever possible and to be their vital link with local and central government. As part of its wide-ranging efforts to support members, Northamptonshire Chamber has launched a dedicated Coronavirus Helpline. Chief executive Paul Griffiths said:
“Our new helpline is operating from 10am to 4pm on week-days. Whilst we cannot guarantee to answer all queries, we’ll do our utmost to signpost businesses in the right direction. We’re aware of the potential mental health issues of isolation and working from home so members are invited to use the helpline even if they just want to chat to someone.”
The Chamber has a direct line to the highest levels of Government through its links with the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) and has urged its members to email its policy manager with any Coronavirus-related issues via the policy email. It is encouraging members to visit the BCC’s Coronavirus Hub, containing links to official public health guidance and information on government support measures, which can be reached through the homepage on Northamptonshire Chamber’s website. The Chamber also offers a Protection Service to members which covers HR, Legal, Health and Safety and Tax matters at the Chambers website protection page.
Paul added: “To help our business community to come together we’re also encouraging members to use the hashtag #NChamberChat on LinkedIn to share business initiatives, requests, stories, and great deals to provide some daily digital business networking. “Over time we have built a strong business community and we want that community to pull together with our support in these unprecedented times.”
