An inspiring investment in 2020

Whittlebury Park is investing £1m into its Conference & Events spaces in 2020 to improve guest experience and create modern and inspirational spaces for meetings, events and conferences. Whittlebury’s Corporate Sales Team will be showing clients the new spaces from spring and share with All Things Business the impact that the spaces will have when clients use them.

Can you tell us about the project?

The refurbishment is really exciting for us as a team and as a business. The meetings industry is always moving on, and so before the final designs were created, we conducted our own research with previous clients and trainers so that we could take on board their feedback which detailed elements they would like to see when they using a training room. This year we have had direct feedback from two national brands requesting more informal spaces as they understand that inspiring surroundings can have a positive impact on output, whether this is related to training or a for a meeting.

Breakout spaces have more priority now too and we have incorporated this with our new-look coffee stations and our ‘Inside, Outside’ room which can be used for multiple purposes. Ultimately, we believe that the refurbishment will look and feel like a complete transformation and from a client perspective, the new spaces will certainly make a good impression for their teams too, so everyone feels invested in.

How do you think the new modern designs will meet current needs in the industry?

A key element of the refurbishment is our informal meeting and breakout space, called the ‘Inside, Outside’ room which we are really excited to launch. The furniture and décor have been chosen to encourage creative thinking in an informal environment. We have seen much more clients asking for this style of space and so we believe that this will exactly match their needs and be a popular choice in 2020. At Whittlebury, we are lucky in that we have over 700-acres of outdoor activity space and now we have our new inspiring indoor spaces which can be used for yoga, Pilates – or whatever our clients wish, giving more options and variety.

What is your favourite part of the refurbishment?

Lighting plays a big part in modern meeting and training spaces, and with this investment, we have moved into using more modern solutions which help to create an inviting environment that looks great too. The lights themselves are LED and so are much more environmentally friendly and create a nice ambience. We’ve also got new wireless phone chargers in our bespoke coffee station booths for extra convenience.

What is the benefit of having meetings, training or events in one place?

Now we have these great new spaces available, there’s even more reasons to have the whole day with us. Having a meeting in one place, rather than moving around means that you have your team in one place for the day (or longer) and there’s no need to go elsewhere for lunch, or for a break. We can create bespoke menus, arrange indoor or outdoor team activities and include access to our gym which has had a significant refurbishment project too.

Can you summarise the new meeting spaces in one sentence?

Inspiring spaces for creative thinking!
