When digital marketing agency Aira made the decision to move offices due to business growth, it called upon fellow Milton Keynes-based business Xpress Relocation to undertake the move.
The move consisted of transporting furniture, IT and office paperwork for around 30 staff from Witan Court to Norfolk House in central Milton Keynes.
“We’d been in our previous office for about two years and had grown very quickly to the point where it was getting a little cosy,” says Paddy Moogan, Co-founder at Aira.
“We knew we wanted to remain in central MK but needed a larger space which allowed us to keep growing at the same pace and provide a better working environment for our team.”
Aira contacted Xpress Relocation who came out to quote for the job and discuss a plan.
“When Xpress Relocation visited our old office to provide a quote, they spent a long time looking into everything and asking lots of questions, which we took as a good sign,” reveals Paddy. “They inspected absolutely everything that needed to be moved, including some very large tables which were going to take some effort to move! When they provided the quote, it was really clear and included a timeline and plan, which gave us confidence that they knew what they were doing.”
As part of this plan, Xpress Relocation had one day to dismantle and reconfigure Aira’s bench system desks, as well as dismantle and move a solid wood boardroom suite and wooden bench suite. The team were onsite at 8.30am and finished at around 7pm, coordinating the move in stages, using several vans.
“The move had to be completed in one long shift to minimise the business downtime,” explains Jade Taylor, Sales and Marketing Manager at Xpress Relocation.
“Prior to the move, we knew that the vehicle entrance into Witan Court had a low arch, which meant we could only utilise small vehicles. This also meant that we had to do more journeys back and forth in order to complete the move on time. Because we were prepared for this, the move was a complete success, with everything being completed as per the quotation and method statement supplied beforehand.”
