Golfers come out in force to raise money ‘fore’ Cynthia Spencer Hospice

Local businesses came out in force to take part in Cynthia Spencer Hospice’s third annual golf day at Northampton Golf Club raising a total of £10,624.  In fact, 21 teams battled it out with Silverstone Fleet Management coming in first place, followed by Vend43 in second place and PBC Business Recovery and Insolvency coming in third place.

Nina Gandy, corporate partnerships fundraiser at Cynthia Spencer Hospice said: “We were absolutely thrilled to have so many teams join our golf day. We understand how challenging this year has been for local businesses and we’re grateful that so many supported the hospice helping to raise a phenomenal £10,624. At a time when our fundraising has been greatly reduced due to cancelled events this amount will make a huge difference to our patients and their families”.

Scott Norville, account director from Silverstone Fleet Management was thrilled with his team’s win: ”Another fantastic golf event and hats off to all at Cynthia Spencer that organised it , as I know first-hand it’s hard to plan anything with all that’s happening around us, but the day was a great success and great to catch up with some great local businesses and raise over £10K!!. The Silverstone Golf Team had a great day and I would highly recommend any local business to join us next year and try to take our throne.”

The event and prizes were sponsored by Franklins Solicitors LLP, DFA Law, Warners Distillery, One Four Six, Andrew Gordon & Co, Harting Limited, United Pallett Network and 465 Office.  Individual prizes were won by Simon Jenkinson of Team Brightwells for the Longest Drive, Adrian Richings of ACS Office Solutions, Nick Bonser from PBC and Daniel Panter from VEND 43 for Nearest the Pin.  Patrick Turner from Team Brightwells won the Putting Competition.

Nina concluded: “I’m pleased to announce that our 2021 golf day will again be held at Northampton Golf Club on Thursday 7th October and I’d encourage any businesses who would like to enter a team to call me on 01604 973348 or drop me an email on nina@cynthiaspencer.co.uk as it’s filling up already with so many teams wanting to play again”.
