Entries open with new awards and new sponsors on board

Entries are now open for this year’s Northamptonshire Logistics Awards, which was launched last month at Decathlon’s state-of-the-art facility on the Brackmills Industrial Estate.

Around 40 guests including sponsors, business leaders and some of last year’s winners were delighted to meet face to face to get the 2022 awards under way and to see the event’s new branding and logo as it was revealed for the first time, as well as to take a tour of the Decathlon site.

Tony Bellott, Chairman of the Northamptonshire Logistics Forum, which organises the awards, said:

“We are delighted to be able to bring everyone together again and launch this year’s awards in style. Thanks to Decathlon for hosting the event and giving everyone the chance to see for themselves the fantastic facility they have here in Northampton.

“With three new awards this year, the event promises to be bigger and better than ever, and we encourage all those wonderful companies and organisations that are part of the local logistics scene to get on the website and enter.”

The new awards include the Unsung Hero Award, the Environmental and Sustainability Award and the Community Engagement Initiative. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for any organisation that wishes to join the likes of headline sponsor MHA MacIntyre Hudson and category sponsors that include Dachser, C Butt, Wilson Browne Solicitors, Panther Logistics, Brackmills BID, Goodwill Solutions and Barclays.

Linda White, Regional Operations Manager at new sponsors for this year, the Road Haulage Association, said:

“Drivers and operators have continued to support the economy throughout the pandemic with some going above and beyond to keep the supply chain moving and food on our shelves. In recognition of this, the RHA are delighted to be working with the Northamptonshire Logistics Forum and sponsoring the HGV Driver of the Year category at the Northamptonshire Logistics Awards 2022.”

The winners of the awards will be announced at a ceremony on Friday, September 16. The winners of the 2021 Team of the Year, Logistics Solutions Group, are among the new sponsors for 2022. The company has sponsored the Logistics Person of the Year award in light of the positive reaction it saw to its own success last year.

Danielle Wykes, Director, said:

“Winning the Team of the Year award meant so much to all at LSG, recognising the grit and determination of the entire team put a collective spring in our step!

“I was so moved by the impact it had on LSG I was excited and proud to sponsor an award this year to contribute to the ongoing recognition of our amazing logistics community.”
