Ground broken at high-spec warehouse scheme

In our first article for All Things Business, we are delighted to report on Signal Park, a brand new, high-spec industrial/warehouse scheme that is being developed in Daventry.

Our clients, Claymore Investment Managers, have broken ground as they start the construction of a new speculative development of industrial and business premises, which is anticipated to be completed late summer 2021. A socially distanced ground breaking ceremony recently launched the development and was attended by Claymore, as well as SEMLEP, Daventry District Council, main contractors Warwick Burt, and Drake Commercial, who have advised on the scheme and are appointed as the marketing agents.

Daventry, and Northamptonshire as a wider area, has been desperate for new development of smaller to medium sized industrial/warehouse premises and Claymore’s development will help meet this demand. A total of 56,561 square feet will be developed across 15 units, with space available from 2,200 square feet upwards. The new scheme has been designed with flexibility in mind, meaning occupiers can take individual, or multiple units in combination, to meet their specific needs. Properties are available to let or for sale.

The new scheme will be branded as Signal Park, which embraces Daventry’s history with radio transmission. The phrase ‘Daventry Calling’ was of course well known across the world with the BBC World Service.

The new scheme has been supported and partly funded by SEMLEP and HMG’s Local Growth Fund. SEMLEP is the local enterprise partnership that supports economic growth across the South East Midlands, helping to build prosperous communities and promote job creation. Daventry District Council have also got great interest in the new scheme, remaining as freeholders and have worked proactively with Claymore and SEMLEP to help unlock this opportunity.

Claymore are based locally, at Caswell Science & Technology Park, and while they have assets across the UK, have always had a particular interest in supporting opportunities in and around the Northamptonshire and South East Midlands region. Northampton-based Warwick Burt have been appointed as the main contractors, and have a track record of high-quality developments in the area.
