After the success of last summer, Northampton Filmhouse and Delapré Abbey are thrilled to announce the return of Drive-In Cinema this spring, running from Saturday 22 May to Sunday 6 June.
Filmhouse@Delapré will feature a bumper season of films, curated by Northampton Filmhouse to be enjoyed on a large screen on the South Lawn, set against the beautiful and historic backdrop of Delapré Abbey. This fully-socially distanced experience allows film fans to see all their favourite movies in glorious surroundings.
With more than 20 well-loved films to choose from, Filmhouse@Delapré offers a Covid-safe summer of entertainment for all the family. Titles include recent blockbuster hits, film classics, family friendly titles and the best from Northampton Filmhouse’s recent programme, with highlights such as Mamma Mia!, Jurassic Park, Tenet, Grand Budapest Hotel, Shaun The Sheep Movie: Farmageddon and Sing Along screenings including The Greatest Showman, Rocketman and Frozen.
A delicious selection of hot food, snacks and treats will be available before each screenings. Social-distancing and enhanced hygiene measures will be in place across the Drive-In site in line with Government advice. Drive-In tickets start from £25 per car and for anyone without access to a vehicle, a limited number of Cycle-in tickets will be available, to watch from a socially-distanced seating area.
Jo Gordon, Chief Executive of Northampton Filmhouse comments;
“While we wait to open the Filmhouse itself later this summer, it’s brilliant that we’re able to bring a bit of Filmhouse magic outdoors and give people that shared experience of watching film together in such a beautiful setting.”
Richard Clinton, Chief Executive of Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust adds
“We had a great response to last year’s Drive-In season and so I’m delighted to be working with the team at Northampton Filmhouse once again to allow even more people to experience Delapré in this exciting way.”
Priority booking opens to Filmhouse members on Wednesday with general sale from Friday 23 April. To see the full schedule, book tickets and find out more about the Drive-in experience, visit Northampton FIlmhouse.
