Want to enjoy a drink outside?

Enjoying a glass of something chilled on the lawn feels like a long way off right now, but it won’t be long before we get some warm summer days when we can relax in the sunshine again.

With that thought in mind, Kettering Park Hotel & Spa will be launching The Lawn Club ready for the Easter weekend and beyond. The outdoor bar has been cleverly created, with barn-style doors, cedar and living wall cladding, pergolas and wall and floor lights, providing a unique and attractive setting for al fresco eating and drinking.

The bar will be serving all things summer, including fizz, Pimm’s, gin and draught beer as well as the hotel’s Hambledon English sparkling wines.

A special menu has been drawn up that will include summer dishes and a selection of afternoon teas, all of which are perfect to enjoy while sitting on the new range of outdoor furniture, or to relax with after taking on family and friends in one of the garden games that will be available.

The new Lawn Club menu will be served from midday to 7.30pm and includes a range of salads, from poached English lobster salad with samphire and crusty bread to a Ploughman’s, as well as open sandwiches and burgers. The desserts include – of course – that most English of treats, strawberries and cream.

Afternoon tea, which includes a selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones with clotted cream and preserves, and a choice of teas and infusions, is £24.95 or £29.95 with a chilled glass of champagne or Hambledon English Rosé.

Jugs of summer classics Pimms Cup and Aperol Spritz with prosecco are great to share with friends, and there’s an excellent selection of champagne and sparkling, white, red and rosé wines along with beers and ciders and a selection of gins.

The Lawn Club does not need to be booked, guests are welcome to simply turn up and find a sunny spot in the gardens, but afternoon tea must be booked in advance.

Andrew Hollett, General Manager at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa, said:

“We’re hoping for a lovely summer this year, when people will get the chance to really appreciate spending time with friends and family out in the open air.

“We’re very much looking forward to seeing guests making the most of our beautiful gardens.”
