It has been an exciting year at DFA Law LLP.
Kirsty Simmonds joined the firm at the start of the year as a Partner and has strengthened the Corporate Commercial Team with key additions to her team. Michael Nadin, an employment specialist, has further reinforced his team with his appointment to Partner. The knowledge and expertise of dispute resolute and litigation Partner Paul Currie just adds to the strength of DFA Law’s corporate commercial team. Together, this is a premier offering.
Mark Brown continues to be recognised as one of the leaders in his field (with an unrivalled reputation). Hannah Furr is forging ahead with her plans to strengthen an enviable Wills, Trusts and Estates Team, with first-class service and lawyers behind her.
Rachel Adams heads up the Family Team. Yes, there has been an exciting year behind DFA Law for all the reasons stated, but there is an equally exciting year to come; Rachel has plans. The Family Team at DFA Law have a formidable reputation and the plan is to continue to build, cultivate and nurture this reputation.
Rachel and her team are passionate about Family Law but it is not just providing first-class service and advice that motivates the team. It is about supporting clients through their journey. It is about ensuring that clients feels supported through what is, often, one of the darkest periods of their lives. You would hope your lawyer knows the law, but there is more to it than that – it is about supporting clients and getting them through the storm and to their ‘destination’, and that is what sets the Family Team at DFA Law apart.
Rachel and her team firmly believe that there should be a holistic approach to Family Law. This is why they are exploring working with divorce coaches, who provide emotional and practical support to clients. We are all cognisant that emotional wellbeing is paramount. But what are professionals doing to support clients who are struggling? You would hope that your lawyer can be accessible, responsive and empathetic. These are qualities that all the lawyers in the Family Team at DFA Law value.
However, some clients need more. They need alternative expertise to help them understand, process and then focus upon the route forward. So, a complimentary appointment with a divorce coach, who can provide the practical and emotional support that is often needed, is an offering that DFA Law are currently developing.
Rachel is also presently in the process of recruiting. The success of the team in terms of new instructions is such that another exciting development is that there will be a new lawyer joining the team within the next few months (watch this space) to further strengthen the unrivalled reputation of the Family Team and DFA Law.
Rachel has been ranked in leading legal directory, Chambers and Partners for many years now. The 2023 edition ranks Rachel as a Band 1 (top Tier) in Family Law, stating;
“Rachel Adams leads the family team at DFA law in Northampton. She predominantly handles matrimonial finance work, including the negotiation of high-net-worth divorce settlements and nuptial agreements.
“Strengths: Rachel is a very strong and experienced lawyer with an incredible depth of knowledge across all areas of family law. She is very capable, diligent and caring.”
If the words of an independent legal directory aren’t enough, some of the feedback from family clients are a ringing endorsement for the support, understanding and care the team offer.
Two examples said: “I cannot thank you enough for your advice, help, support and for fighting my corner. At times I have wavered and thought about giving in, but you gave me the courage to go on, so thank you.
And: “Your service and advice has been second to none, but more importantly your sense of empathy and care for my wellbeing has been truly amazing. Thank you so much, you’ve made what is a very horrible experience somewhat bearable.”
