Bear in mind an exciting top-flight addition to the fixture list

Bedford Blues have announced the club will welcome a third Premiership side to Goldington Road this season, with news of the visit of Bristol Bears on Friday March 1 (KO 7:45pm).

The game is a replacement for the Jersey Reds home fixture, originally scheduled for the same weekend, and therefore will be included in the season ticket package and any remaining Bring a Friend for Free codes will also be valid for this game.

It will be the first time the two sides have done battle since the 2017/18 campaign, when Bristol were crowned champions of the second tier. Bedford will be searching for a first victory over their top-flight opponents since October 2015.

The fixture also sees a return to Goldington Road for former Blues captain Rich Lane, as well as Piers O’Conor and Junior Paramore, now all at home in Bear country.

The club would like to thank Pat Lam and the team at Bristol for their co-operation in arranging this mid-season game and wish them luck for the remainder of their Premiership and European campaigns.

With 2024 now upon us and the final games of the season coming up fast, Blues Women will host familiar foes St Neots Ladies on January 21, while the only Friday Night Lights fixture of the season sees London Scottish visit at the end of the month.

Cornish Pirates head to town in February, while in March there’s the annual Ladies Day festivities when Caldy pay a visit. Blues Women conclude their season when they host Stockwood Park on St Patrick’s Day.

It’s an April Derby Day this season as Blues look for a fourth successive victory over Ampthill, while the Goldington Road curtain falls for another season against Doncaster Knights in early May.
