For the finalists in this year’s Northamptonshire Logistics Awards, the stakes couldn’t be higher as they vie for the trophies in what has been one of the biggest entries ever into the competition.
The awards, which celebrate those in the haulage, distribution and logistics sector in the county, saw the most entries ever, giving the judges the difficult task of choosing a shortlist for the 13 awards.
Experts from across the logistics sector in Northamptonshire made up the panel and reviewed all the entries:
- Logistics consultant Andy Fitt
- Logistics consultant Tim Grantham
- UK HR Manager Diane Rawlings
- Partner at MHA, Adam Young
- Health and Safety Advisor at the University of Northampton, Christy Jones
- Director of Wright Logistics Services, Jim Wright
- Head of Early Careers & Apprenticeships Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Limited, Sharon Blyfield OBE
A series of judging panels were held to decide on the finalists, who were revealed at a special event at Wincanton’s Innovation Centre in Corby, attended by logistics companies and associated organisations and invited guests. The finalists will find out if theyhave won any of a range of categories, from Apprentice of the Year and Community Engagement Initiative of the Year to HGV Driver of the Year and Unsung Hero of the Year, at a ceremony at the Mercure Northampton Hotel on Friday, October 11.
The awards are headline sponsored by MHA, with category sponsors All Things Business, More Driver Solutions, Northampton College, Rushlift, Brackmills Industrial Estate, Dachser, Route1 Group, UKWA, Xtra Express Logistics, DSV, RHA, Woodfines Solicitors and Logistics Solutions Group.
Organiser Charlotte Patrick said:
“We were delighted to see the biggest entry ever this year, and from a great breadth of companies and services from across the county.
“But our three judging panels, made up of individuals with a wide range of experience and expertise within the sector, as well as previous winners, have now met and reviewed all entries and completed the daunting task of coming up with a shortlist for each award.
“We’re very grateful to them, and to Wincanton in Corby for hosting our reveal event and everyone is now looking forward to a special celebratory night in October when we find out who has taken this year’s titles.”
Tickets for the awards night will be on sale from September 4.
