Logistics sector celebrations just keep getting bigger and better

Once again, the best of the logistics sector came together at this year’s Northamptonshire Logistics Awards to celebrate the companies, organisations and individuals that play such a vital part in the UK economy.

The awards celebrate not just expertise within the industry, keeping supply chains moving smoothly, but also what goes on at ground level to promote social wellbeing, diversity and inclusion and a commitment to reducing carbon footprint and keeping the focus on sustainability.

This year’s awards took place in October at the Mercure Northampton Hotel and were compered by Clare Bottle, CEO of UK Warehousing Association. Clare, along with Charlotte Patrick from the Northamptonshire Logistics Awards and Adam Young from headline sponsor MHA, welcomed guests from across the industry, the judging panels and the awards sponsors.

DSV were named Big Logistics Company of the Year, and also took the Community Engagement Initiative of the Year for the fundraising efforts of its Thrapston site over the year to bridge the gap between big business and the local community.

The Chairman’s Special Award, sponsored by Rushlift, went to Northampton-based My 1st Years – the world’s leading personalised baby brand – which has been supporting Goods for Good since 2017, providing warehousing and logistics support and donating thousands of pounds of clothing and toys to children living in natural disasters, war and poverty.

Route1 Group, which sponsored the Logistics Person of the Year award, also took two awards – Team of the Year and Unsung Hero, which was won by Olivia Haines.

Charlotte Patrick said:

“This year’s awards were bigger and better than ever and turned out to be a wonderful celebration of this fantastic sector. We’d like to thank Clare Bottle for doing a wonderful job as our compere, and also to HBB in Bedford for designing and producing this year’s trophies.

“As with any event of this kind, we couldn’t do it with- out our awards sponsors, and it was lovely to hear people saying what a great evening they’d had and that they are keen to get involved again next year. We rely on them for their support and it’s thanks to them that this event just keeps growing.

“We also had wonderful entertainment from the students from Northampton College who excelled themselves as usual. Congratulations to all the winners – it’s wonderful to be able to showcase just how fantastic the logistics sector is in this county.”

Congratulations to the winners
