Two-person delivery specialist AIT Home Delivery – a wholly-owned subsidiary of AIT Worldwide Logistics – is further extending its reach into Northern Ireland with the opening of a new warehouse and office.
The new premises will allow consumers in Northern Ireland who have ordered heavy items online – including furniture, white goods, brown goods and garden items – to benefit from faster delivery times.
Situated on the Ballyloran Industrial Estate, Ballyboley Road in the busy provincial town of Larne, on the eastern coast of Co Antrim, the opening of the new 14,000 sq. ft. warehouse is a strategic move which will benefit customers across Northern Ireland.
Co Antrim is home to one of the busiest ro-ro ports with up to 38 daily arrivals and departures to Scotland and England and the investment will allow end customers to receive their orders from the UK within 72 hours of purchase, instead of the existing four-day offering.
The move follows a recent expansion in Scotland in which AIT opened a new warehouse in Cumbernauld.
Gary McKelvey is AIT’s Vice President of Global Home Delivery.
He said: “We pride ourselves on our market-leading service which has been to our success across the UK and Northern Ireland for many years.
“This strategic investment in Larne will have far-reaching effects for customers in Northern Ireland. They will benefit from an enhanced final-mile experience at the point of delivery where they can also take advantage of our value-added services such as delivery to room of choice and assembly and installation, ensuring their goods are safely delivered and ready for immediate use.”

The new site is fully operational and serves the whole of the BT postcode.
Formerly Panther Logistics, AIT Home Delivery was rebranded in July last year following its 2020 acquisition by US-based AIT Worldwide Logistics.
The company has established itself as a global leader in final-mile delivery, offering services such as delivery to room of choice, packaging removal, assembly and installation, disposal, seven-day delivery and direct customer communication regarding delivery windows.
Ryan Carter, Executive Vice President, Americas, for AIT Worldwide Logistics, added: “This investment in Co Antrim is a clear demonstration of our commitment to UK customers – providing the very-best final mile experience which is unmatched by any other two-person carrier.
“Our new premises in Larne represents a key strategic investment which will bring a whole host of benefits.”
