Since 2002, Impact Recruitment Services has specialised in recruiting across Northamptonshire, gaining an unrivalled knowledge of the sectors and roles that matter in the county.
The company’s core mission has always been to raise the standard for service quality and compliance and is built around four core values – Grow together, Aim for better, Do the right thing, and Be consistently brilliant.
From navigating the complexity of the 2008 financial crisis, the pivot required during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the evolving dynamics of Brexit, Impact has built a truly robust recruitment operation. This resilience ensures its clients’ vital roles are always filled with quality talent, regardless of market conditions. As a result, the firm is proud of its many long-term partnerships and highly regarded reputation across the county.
The agency specialises in providing vetted candidates within the commercial, industrial, supply chain, and technology & engineering sectors to clients in a whole range of specialisms and industries.
As was the case for many businesses, the first few months of 2025 presented genuine challenges. However, following the government’s Spring Statement in March, Impact has seen a tangible pick-up in recruitment activity across Northamptonshire, suggesting renewed confidence in future growth.
Regarding the current hiring landscape, Impact Director Paul Hooper said: “This swift rebound following the Spring Statement is a strong indicator of renewed investment confidence among local firms. As a business owner with many years under my belt, my advice on hiring right now is: don’t wait. The best talent moves fast when confidence returns, and securing your crucial roles now is critical before the market heats up fully in 2026.”
Community commitment
The steady start to 2025 presented an opportunity for reflection and redirection. The company reviewed its service offerings, evaluated whether its messaging matches what it actually does, and considered what would be the right direction to take the business moving forward. This focus led to the strategic decision to consolidate the team back into one central Northampton office, reinforcing its commitment to the local area.
Now based entirely in Northampton, as well as its on-site locations across the county and in Peterborough, Impact is establishing its place in the community. Through delivering employability workshops to local schools and colleges, and actively supporting local charities, its impact extends beyond recruitment. It is not only making a difference to its candidates and clients but also to communities in Northamptonshire and Peterborough.
Alongside its commitment to the community in which it operates, Impact also believes that a commitment to the highest ethical and legal standards is non-negotiable. As a corporate member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), Impact adheres to the most stringent professional guidelines. This protects its candidates and, most importantly, provides clients with peace of mind that every placement adheres to best practice.
Paul Hooper added: “We position ourselves as a recruitment agency that is always ready to respond, helping our clients stay ahead in a competitive and fast-paced world. We’ve got a fantastic team who will work to understand your business today but who also have an eye on what might be just around the corner.
“That agility and flexibility, combined with a focus on building relationships, streamlining systems to deliver efficiency, and always ensuring clients get the best person for the job, is what makes us an outstanding recruitment partner, proven over more than 20 years.”

Innovating to improve
Impact believes efficiency should lead to more and better human connection, not less.
As part of its reflection, Impact looked at ways to become more efficient, from streamlining internal processes to exploring AI integrations. With its candidates and clients at the forefront of every decision, these efficiencies allowed the team to dedicate more personal attention, both through conversations with candidates or delivering valuable on-site check-ins for clients.
Impact is also in the process of improving the experience through earlier touchpoints, such as its website, to deliver a quality service from start to finish.
What Impact does
Whilst the agency’s sectors remained the same, Impact has recently diversified its service offerings to align with what it actually delivers.
These services include temporary recruitment, permanent recruitment, on-site management, managed service, flexible recruitment packages, interim and contract recruitment, and executive search.
The roles for which it recruits have also expanded, varying from highly skilled and experienced senior position to lower level roles.
With its increased capability, Impact offers a convenient and end-to-end service underpinned by the Impact Quality Promise. The promise is a clear commitment to the high standards businesses can expect every time they work with Impact. It’s a way of showing that the firm doesn’t just talk about quality, it is lived through every interaction.
Moving forward
As a result of the agency’s expanded offerings, enhanced services quality, and renewed market confidence, Impact successfully found work for more than 1,000 people in the second half of 2025.
Bringing this momentum into 2026, Impact is ready to help many more people find work and businesses build their teams across Northamptonshire and Peterborough.

Following the announcement of the new statutory National Living Wage (NLW), of £12.71 per hour, an increase of 4.1%, from April 2026, many local companies are facing a period of compulsory compensation restructuring.
This mandatory uplift often creates a ‘pay compression’ challenge, where salary bands across the organisation need adjusting to maintain fair differentials above the minimum standard. In return for completing Impact’s Salary Survey (which typically takes less than 15 minutes), participants will receive a full, complimentary copy of the final, in-depth report.
