A celebration of flavours, food, drink and entrepreneurial spirit

Jeyes of Earls Barton has been rewarded for its forward-thinking initiatives, business acumen and unwavering passion at The Gifts Awards 2025.

In May, owners Georgina, Philippa and Anna Jeyes attended a glittering awards evening at The Royal Lancaster, Hyde Park where they were announced winners of the Best National Gift Retailer Within A Visitor Attraction award. Despite being up against some of the country’s finest, including Blenheim Palace Gift Shop, Savill’s of Windsor Great Park and The Natural History Museum, the Earls Barton venue was recognised as the best within this category – a remarkable honour for the family-run business.

Another successful part of the business is The Apothocoffee Shop, a bustling hub within Jeyes that captures Northamptonshire’s growing buzz for great food and drink. The warm and friendly surroundings include six different indoor and outdoor dining areas, making it an ideal venue for everything from casual lunches and business meetings to special occasions.

The coffee shop has an extensive drinks and food menu, many dishes celebrating Jeyes’ award-winning Northamptonshire products. Georgina Jeyes said: “In 2021, we discovered the recipe for JEYES’S Northamptonshire Sauce, originally produced by Philadelphus Jeyes at 6 The Drapery, Northampton in 1853. This historical culinary delicacy was recreated, improved by modern day ingredients and produced locally for us by Steve Reid of Friars Farm.

Celebrating food and drink

Back for its second year, Northamptonshire Food & Drink Week offers people the chance to explore and engage with the vibrant culinary scene of Northamptonshire. Organised by Made in Northamptonshire and the Northamptonshire Tourism Business Network, the 2025 Food & Drink Week shines a spotlight on the people, places and produce from the county, and Jeyes of Earls Barton are excited to be involved once again.

Philippa said: “Last year’s festival was a great success, so we were keen to be involved again, we have various collaborations happening over the summer including working with Steve from Friars Farm and The Northamptonshire Charcuterie & Cheese Company. Launching for the start of the Food & Drink Week, The Apothocoffee Shop has a special menu ‘Flames that Ignite Inspiration’ which celebrates JEYES’S Northamptonshire Mustard, Steve’s Red Skyver cheese and his delicious home-cured beef pastrami. The menu will run throughout the summer season so plenty of time for you to pay Jeyes a visit.

“We have also been working closely with award-winning chef James Peck from The Four Pears and, to celebrate Northamptonshire Food & Drink Week, he has created a special Northamptonshire Food Hero’s Menu which showcases locally made produce. JEYES’S Northamptonshire Mustard features in the main dish, Cannon of Lamb, which sounds delightful, and we can’t wait to visit during June to try for ourselves.”

Anna added: “It is partnerships such as these that not only support local economies but also encourage sustainable practices and enthuse consumers to support home-grown brands across the county.”

Jeyes of Earls Barton stands testament to family heritage, community connections and a deep-rooted love for retail and local food and drink which creates an unforgettable experience and a lasting impression on every guest.
