Has Aspers bounced back after the difficulties of lockdown? You bet it has! For many years, the Northampton casino has been a favourite destination for regular guests, and for those looking to extend a night out in town with a couple of hours on the tables and a few late drinks. But there is, and always has been, so much more to Aspers.
The elegant casino offers all the regular betting options, from blackjack and roulette tables to slot machines, as well as excellent food and drink in Clarys Restaurant, a stylish bar area where guests can enjoy a quiet drink, and a function room that can host events for up to 250 people.
General Manager Nigel Hartland is enjoying welcoming guests back to the venue now that everyone is getting back into the habit of going out again.
“Yes, we’re a casino and that’s our core business, but Aspers really is something of a one-stop shop for entertainment,” he said. “It’s a safe and welcoming place where people can enjoy a drink or a meal, and have a flutter if they want to, but there’s no obligation to gamble.
“When restrictions were first lifted, I think people were more likely to come into town for a meal or a drink and then head off home again, rather than staying , but we’re getting that buzz back now and we have a lot of exciting things planned to keep that going.”
Aspers is open every day from 10am, with Clarys Restaurant opening Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and all day Sunday. The function space is available for corporate events and parties, and a programme of live entertainment is planned including:
- Saturday, July 16 – Forever Jackson, a Michael Jackson tribute
- Saturday, September 3 – Honey Honey, an Abba tribute
- Saturday, October 15 – The Amazing Blues Brothers, tribute night
Each show, with a three-course dinner is £25 per person, tickets for the show only are £15 per person.
