Best in the business get ready to celebrate again

Presenting opportunities for businesses across the county – as finalists, sponsors and guests – the fifth Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards are now officially open.

Entries and nominations are now invited for the awards, which celebrate the county’s business community across 15 different categories, from Apprentice of the Year and Big Business of the Year to the Food and Drink Award and Community Project or Person of the Year.

The awards were founded in 2018 and have become one of the biggest events in the county’s awards calendar. Their success, and that of the Northamptonshire Education Awards, which have been running since 2019, has been recognised with the awarding of an Outstanding by the Awards Trustmark scheme.

Entries to the Northamptonshire Education Awards, supported by headline sponsor EasiPC, have also opened, with 11 categories up for grabs, including Nursery, Primary and Secondary School of the Year, Headteacher of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Once the entries are in, they will be scored against set criteria and marked through a bespoke software-based scoring system and the finalists are selected. The finalists will then be considered by the independent judges before the winner is selected and announced at the awards ceremonies at the County Ground, home of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club.

The Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards 2023 will take place on Thursday, November 9 and the Northamptonshire Education Awards 2023 on Friday, November 10. There are some sponsorship opportunities still available, with a sponsors event due to take place at Reed’s headquarters on the Brackmills Business Park on May 11.

Ben Thomas from organisers All Things Business said:

“Our awards are one of the highlights of our year and we’re already excited for the awards nights in November. We’re once again very grateful to our sponsors and we have invited everyone to an event later this month at which we will be giving more details about the evenings’ hosts, our themes and our continued support for local charity Kelly’s Heroes.

“One thing we can confirm at this time, though, is that after the success of the scheme last year, we will once again be inviting sponsors to make a donation rather than providing items for a goody bag. We made the decision to do that last year and it was very well received and, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we were able to invite them to join us at Wicksteed Park earlier this year when we planted the 2,500 saplings bought with their kind donations.

“Let’s hope this year’s awards are bigger and better than ever, and we look forward to seeing as many people from our business and education sectors getting together to celebrate their successes.”
