As the outbreak of COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc in our lives, people are advised to travel only when necessary. Travel advice changes on a weekly basis, so it is important to keep up to date with the government advice and regularly check the travel corridor list (a list of countries, territories and regions from where you can travel to England and not have to self-isolate on your return).
But there is a glimmer of hope. Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, recently hinted in a BBC TV interview with Andrew Marr that people could be holidaying abroad with fewer restrictions by April.

Cyprus
Cyprus has a special charm that has attracted many visitors over the last hundred years. The country is well known for its stunning beaches covered with the finest white sand, and turquoise blue waters where you will find yourself among water skiers, windsurfers, and other water babies, enjoying everything from beach volleyball to boat trips.
The country is filled with plenty of history and you can enjoy exploring ancient castles and ruins, marvel at the beauty of waterfalls, or enjoy a day at one of the aquariums. Cyprus is an ideal destination for families, friends and couples.
Tokyo
In this vast metropolis, ancient traditions blend with futuristic buildings. Tokyo is a matrix of villages, towns and cities, connected by a complex subway system, making it easy to travel to each and every district. Despite its busy exterior, the city is bound with tradition and respect, treating visitors as honoured guests.
Asakusa is Tokyo’s temple district. Here you’ll find the main street, Nakamisi Dori, which leads the temple Sensoji. It’s also a haven for street food, markets, colour and religious charms. This makes it an excellent place for souvenir shopping.
Marrakesh
Marrakesh is a magical city where spices fill the air and you’ll be overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the locals, bursting with energy and pride for their city. Lose yourself in the striking colours, hand-crafted leather and rugs that have been woven by Berber tribes of the Middle Atlas mountains.
Portugal
Portugal’s winning combination of sandy beaches, dramatic scenery and world-class golf courses has kept it firmly on the holiday map for decades. And if all that wasn’t enough, the country also has excellent weather credentials, basking in around 300 days of sunshine a year. Curving round the south coast is the Algarve region, which has a dramatic coastline scalloped with sandy bays and secluded coves. Resort-wise, you can choose between large, lively towns and sleepy fishing villages.
Going forward
So, what does the future look like for the travel industry?
“Undoubtedly, safety will clearly be the main issue facing future travel,” said Rob. “Social distancing will somehow need to continue in airports, on planes, in accommodation, restaurants, and everywhere that makes a holiday relaxing.
“Airports will most likely take on a different role too, taking temperature checks and testing for those deemed healthy enough to fly.
“We would be happy to talk to anyone considering booking a holiday for 2021. Our advice when booking is to be careful. Do your research and make sure you understand the restrictions at the destination that you have chosen to visit. Also, check your travel insurance to ensure you have the appropriate cover. We only offer ATOL/ABTA protected holidays but if you are going to book direct yourself, check that you have financial insurance to cover for any disruptions or cancellations. If you do book a holiday online, check that you have the appropriate holiday protection that should come with a package holiday.”
