Festive fine dining, charitable Christmas trees and exclusive party venue hire are some of the highlights on the menu at the Greedy Gordons venues in Northamptonshire this year.
The culinary collection of businesses has the festive season all wrapped up as it unveiled its new dining menus throughout its popular pubs, and its Christmas party options for revellers looking to book the perfect party.
The Greedy Gordons pub portfolio transforms into a winter wonderland with luxurious Christmas decorations adorning all its venues, which include The Red Lion in Cranford, The Snooty Fox in Lowick, The Pig & Waffle in Grafton Underwood plus its café The Buttery and The Greedy Gordons Farm Shop in Woodford.
This year the farm shop will be selling dozens of Christmas trees (5ft and 6ft options) from November 18, sourced from a specially selected Scottish woodland and in the spirit of giving, there will be donation from each tree sale to the Kettering Food Bank, which is one of the numerous community charities the Northamptonshire pub company regularly supports.
There also is the option to treat colleagues or family and friends to one of the numerous Christmas gift vouchers available at the popular pubs. The festive season is the busiest time of the year for the team at Greedy Gordons with 2024 expected to be its busiest yet.
Managing Director Richard Gordon, who runs Greedy Gordons with business partner Sonya Harvey, confessed Christmas is their favourite time of the year.
Richard said: “We all love Christmas and we’ve invested more than £60,000 ensuring all our venues look fantastically festive every year. We hire professionals to decadently decorate each of our pubs in their own unique seasonal style.”
Businesses can ensure their company Christmas party is a cracker with the option to exclusively hire The Pig & Waffle for gatherings of a minimum of 40 and maximum of 50 celebrating colleagues.
Richard added: “It is the perfect venue to enjoy exclusive hire for a special Christmas party and we are always happy to accommodate special requests from businesses who might want to hold their Christmas party earlier or later in the season.”
All of the Greedy Gordons popular pubs will be hosting Christmas parties and gatherings that are available to pre-book, with diners able to enjoy indulgent traditional festive food or select from a range of more eclectic culinary creations.
Dining delights include everything from traditional roast Norfolk turkey and all the Christmas trimmings to tandoori lamb kebab, pitta, curried coleslaw, raita and mango chutney. Delicious desserts range from warm gingerbread served with clementine jelly and dark chocolate pastry cream and caramel sauce to chilled blackcurrant soufflé with a warm Guinness and liquorice syrup.
With decades of experience working within the hospitality industry, Richard, Sonya and their team collectively decide on the festive food and delicious dishes set to delight diners, with a sumptuous selection of show stopping seasonal favourites and multiple menu options at all venues to cater for all tastes and satisfy all appetites.
The Red Lion in Cranford will once again welcome a very special guest this December in a festive treat that delights younger guests every year.
Richard said: “We are thrilled that Santa will be with us at The Red Lion on Saturday December 14 and children visiting with their families can let him know what they would like for Christmas.”
The Santa package includes a gift package with chocolate treats for the children plus carrots and reindeer food to put out on Christmas Eve – there is also a photo opportunity to capture the magical moment.
While the festive season is always hectic in the hospitality sector, Richard and Sonya also ensure their dedicated teams can also celebrate the special time of the year.
Richard said: “Our team are incredibly important to our ongoing success, and we also want to recognise all their hard work so all our venues are closed on Christmas Day, so those who want to celebrate and be with their families can do that.
“We ensure we shut earlier on Christmas Eve to allow everyone enough time to head home and those team members who have young children can leave extra early. It is a very busy time, but we all enjoy welcoming businesses booking Christmas parties, families enjoying the festive season together as well as being able to showcase the fantastic food and drink we will be offering. It is never too early to book and we look forward to ensuring everyone can celebrate the Christmas season in style.”
