Focus on international markets leads to prestigious award

A Towcester company has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade. 

Diamond Hard Surfaces Ltd is one of only 226 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise. The award, which was announced on Thursday April 21, saw Diamond Hard Surfaces Ltd recognised for its excellence in international trade. 

Employing six people, Diamond Hard Surfaces Ltd was established in 2004 and produces high-performance, high-endurance diamond-based engineering materials and coatings for Advanced Engineering Markets such as aerospace and electronics.

Director and CEO of the company, Chris H Walker, who has led the business from start up to production said:

“We are delighted that our small, energetic, customer-focused team has been recognised with the highest award in the UK. Adopting an international approach to our business from the outset has resulted in us supplying our unique and patented products to blue chip businesses in over 22 countries globally.”

Now in its 56th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for the next five years.
