Learning how to work through her own issues led Humera Cox of Explore Your Destiny to a new set of skills that’s she now using to help others rid themselves of anything that blocks their path to success.
It could be anything from losing excess weight or stopping smoking to finding a new confidence in business sales, but Humera believes her RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy) works with the subconscious mind to get to the root causes of the problem. Will power along cannot break the chain of a bad habit or fears.
Some time ago, former accountant and property developer, Humera found herself struggling at work and going through difficult times in her personal life. Separation and then divorce, accompanied by difficulties in her business life left her feeling stressed.
In turn, her confidence suffered and although networking seemed to be the answer to rebuilding her career, she felt a real fear of standing up and delivering her 45-second pitch in front of a room full of people.
When all that left her seeking a way to turn her life around, she turned to RTT, which aims to help the client discover for themselves where their problems began. The therapy proved beneficial and Humera was so impressed by the way it had made her feel, physically and mentally, she decided to pursue the idea and underwent training from RTT founder Marisa Peer before setting up her own practice, Explore Your Destiny.
“Whatever there is in your life that’s making you behave a certain way, it’s probably grounded in something that happened in your past,” explained Humera. “RTT works by helping clients recognise what that was and deal with it. Overeating may be linked to childhood stress, or fear of speaking in public could be to do with being made to feel foolish at school or being judged by your peers. It’s often not hard to get people to see where the root of their problems lie.”
An RTT session usually lasts around 90 minutes, although a client who needs to continue for longer is allowed to do so.
“People come to me with all kinds of things they aren’t happy with – including things that stop them succeeding at work,” said Humera. “It might be fear of taking risks in business or feeling stressed about not hitting targets. Both of those, for example, can be rooted in a seeing parents struggle for money during childhood or in failing at something at school. Similarly, a fear of speaking in a meeting or in the boardroom can go back to a time when you were laughed at for something you said in class. We also help people to change their behaviour with regard to more common habits, such as smoking or nail biting.
“RTT is a way to bring issues to the fore, understand them and deal with them, and then transition away from them and bring about permanent lasting change. I get great pleasure from helping people to bring about change and see them transform their lives, get rid of all that discouragement or guilt and perform at their best.
“People struggle for too long with things that are holding them back, RTT gives them the chance to step into a new and brilliant future with a new-found belief in themselves.”
