Architects celebrate fifth anniversary in the region

As the Milton Keynes Studio of national architects, GSSArchitecture, celebrates its five-year anniversary, the practice continues to deliver a wide range of schemes that focus on improvements and regeneration within the region and further afield.

Since the practice was established in the Midlands in 1879, it has had the opportunity to gain considerable experience in the design and delivery of projects across the residential, education, healthcare, commercial and industrial and many more sectors. This wealth of knowledge and experience shared throughout the practice’s five offices provides substantial insight when working with clients, developing schemes that look to improve facilities, maximise value and promote regeneration in the local area through the intervention of the GSS in-house sustainability team and wellness and wellbeing team.

One such scheme that the practice has been working on recently involves a new residential development in Walnut Tree, Milton Keynes. Working closely alongside project partners Grand Union Housing Group, Catalyst Land Solutions and Watson & Cox, significant progress has been made on the site, which is set to provide 30 new apartments that will overlook the park at Highgate Over. Designs for the new apartment building have been shaped through community input, gathered during various public consultations in order to ensure an attractive and appropriate design which will help to encourage further regeneration in the area.

The practice has also recently been appointed for regeneration works in Bletchley, in addition to its ongoing partnership with Milton Keynes College and Activate Learning, which has already seen the delivery of the first of three Institutes of Technology. These new educational hubs aim to allow students to collaborate and engage with a range of vocational study programmes, apprenticeships and Higher Education courses, including new technology courses which aren’t yet on offer anywhere else in the country.

Chris Chapman, Partner and Milton Keynes Studio Lead at GSSArchitecture, said:

“Our team across the UK have been working exceptionally hard to deliver some award-winning schemes recently, and with our Milton Keynes Studio recently celebrating its five-year anniversary, I’m delighted that we have so many exciting projects taking place in the local area.

“As a practice we work closely with our clients to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions to meet their needs, and we’ve been lucky enough to build some great, long-standing relationships in the region thanks to the work carried out by our team. Being based in the heart of Milton Keynes for the last five years has allowed us to continue growing in the region, expanding upon our portfolio that began long before we set up this Studio.”
