Innovation and improvement brings benefits for clients and recognition within the sector

Ambitious 3PL fulfilment provider Europa Warehouse in Corby won two awards at this year’s Northamptonshire Logistics Awards (NLA), taking home the award for Health, Safety & Wellbeing, as well as the coveted Big Logistics Company of the Year title.

Europa Warehouse is the specialist 3PL division of Europa Worldwide Group and has had a presence within Northants since 2015. Its Corby warehouse, which was constructed and commissioned at the height of the pandemic, is based at Midlands Logistics Park, and employs more than 300 people from across the county.

Dionne Redpath, COO of Europa Worldwide Group and Head of Warehouse Division, said: “To be recognised as Big Logistics Company of the Year against candidates from across the sector is a huge honour for the Corby team, who work tirelessly every day, designing and implementing solutions for streamlining the supply chain.

“This award honours the team who has built this facility during a time of changing consumer behaviours and demands for an entirely different way of working. The team has firmly established us as a credible and innovative solutions provider, with the scale and resource to deliver great value.

Well done and thank you Team Warehouse, Corby. Take a bow!”

At a time when businesses and consumers are faced with the rising cost of living and increased inflation, Europa’s Warehouse Division is supporting leading brands in the ecommerce sector to reduce the risk of high-cost returns through accurate fulfilment of customer orders whilst at the same time, lowering pallet storage rates.

Europa’s appetite for continual innovation and improvement means that all orders, whether they are manually picked or automated, are subject to rigorous quality and accuracy checks to ensure that all 3PL orders fulfilled, regardless of how small or large the scale of units, are dispatched with a 100% accuracy rate.

Dionne Redpath said: “Inaccurate fulfilment of goods to consumers not only brings with it the measurable cost of initial and returned delivery, restocking and inventory management, as well as orders cancelled in their entirety, it also carries the risk of the unmeasurable costs associated to loss of customer loyalty, and damage to brand reputation.

“The significant financial and operational implications associated to the cost of returned items, especially when the return is avoidable, can be mitigated by choosing the right logistics partner.”

In addition to reducing inaccurate order fulfilment, Europa Warehouse in Corby is also offering a new low-cost pallet storage rate of £1.49 per pallet, per week, for customers looking to house more than 3,000 ambient pallets.

Europa Warehouse is able to offer this compelling combination of highly competitive storage rates and superb levels of operational quality due to its optimised storage design, real time stock management information, as well as access to high tech automation systems.

Dionne said: “Making life easier and supporting businesses to reduce costs, improve customer satisfaction through responsive, flexible and trustworthy services, all delivered at a fair price, is at the forefront of our commitment to delivering a first-class 3PL storage and fulfilment service.

“This low-cost offer does not mean a reduction in the quality and accuracy of the service we provide to our customers, and our customers’ customers. That couldn’t be further from reality.”

As well as taking home the big NLA prize this year, Europa Warehouse in Corby has been recognised for how seriously it takes the ongoing welfare of its team.

For example, in the last two years, it has developed initiatives like the Safety Bucks and Safety Cup challenges, which are internal competitions recognising individuals who go the extra mile to ensure that everyone can ‘work safely and responsibly’, which is one of Europa’s most important values.

Further to this, it has invested more than £11m in high-tech automation and incident management software to deliver an agile approach with optimal output, while maintaining the safety of its team.

Europa Warehouse operates across three bonded sites in Dartford, Birmingham and Corby. The £60m Corby warehouse houses 750,000 square feet of

pallet storage and 3PL fulfilment space. It’s capable of storing up to 100,000 pallets and processes up to 100,000 units of goods per day through its automation system.

The NLA judging panel said: “Europa demonstrated some great initiatives across the site to the benefit of all employees. The scale and design of this company has been set up with great employee engagement, covering so much of their activity. A standout winner for the judges this year.”

Europa Warehouse is part of Europa Worldwide Group, an ambitious independent logistics operator with two other divisions, Europa Road and Europa Air & Sea that has been featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for three years.

Europa has invested £5m in its innovative market-leading product, Europa Flow, providing a frictionless flow of goods between the EU and the UK post Brexit. The group employs over 1,400 people with 29 international sites in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Europe, Hong Kong, China and the UAE. The global operator recently reported a record turnover of £302m for the last 12 months, as of August 2022, and remains on track with its ambitious investment programme.
