It’s almost time to get back out in the sun

After its successful launch last year, Kettering Park Hotel & Spa’s outdoor bar and food area, The Lawn Club, will be open for business once again later this month.

Introduced last summer, The Lawn Club is an outdoor bar with a food and drink menu that gives guests the chance to sample something a little different as they enjoy the good weather. Set in the hotel’s beautiful gardens, it’s a space that is ideal for everything from a drink in the sun after work through to a family afternoon in the sunshine.

With its barn-style doors, cedar and living wall cladding, pergolas and wall and floor lights, The Lawn Club combines an al fresco setting with all the services you’d expect in the hotel’s regular restaurant and bar. The kitchen team has devised a special menu comprising lighter summer dishes and snacks, as well as a selection of afternoon teas.

The Lawn Club menu will be served from midday to 7pm and includes a range of nibbles and snacks, salads, and a selection of open and hot sandwiches and side dishes. There’s also main dishes including prime beef rump burger, chickpea and chilli burger and Thwaites beer battered fish and chips, and all that can be followed up with a choice of desserts.

Afternoon tea, which includes a selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones with clotted cream and preserves and a choice of teas and infusions, is £32.95 or £41.75 with a chilled glass of Ayala champagne or Hambledon English Rosé.

For groups looking to enjoy some rest and relaxation in the open air, jugs of summer classics like Pimms Cup and Aperol Spritz with prosecco are great to share, and there’s an excellent selection of champagne and sparkling, white, red and rosé wines along with beers and ciders and a selection of gins.

Those wanting food and drinks guests are welcome to simply turn up at The Lawn Club and find a sunny spot in the gardens. There’s plenty of comfortable outdoor furniture to while away the hours, and garden games for those who want to prefer a little bit of healthy competition to sitting around doing nothing. Those wishing to enjoy afternoon tea at The Lawn Club, though, must book in advance.

Andrew Hollett, General Manager at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa, said:

“We launched The Lawn Club last year and it was an immediate success. When the weather is good, there’s nothing better than sitting outside in our beautiful gardens with a cold drink and a bite to eat. This year, The Lawn Club will open in late April, weather permitting, so we look forward to a few nice, warm late spring and summer days where everyone can make the most of what we have on offer.”
