A site manager has received a prestigious National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Award for a development in Leighton Buzzard.
Hedley Jackson, from Bletchley received the award for excellence in on-site management at Redrow South Midland’s Leestone Park, on Heath Road.
In existence for more than 40 years, the NHBC’s Pride in the Job scheme is dedicated to recognising the industry’s very best performers and is a prestigious accolade that site managers aspire to achieve.
To receive an award, site managers must score highly in all areas of build and site management including quality of workmanship, technical expertise, health and safety and leadership. Judges look for meticulous attention to detail and the special qualities and attributes that set quality, award-winning site managers apart from the rest.
Hedley, who has recently been promoted to Area Construction Manager, started his career in construction as a storeman 15 years ago, before becoming a site manager for Redrow in 2013. He previously won two NHBC Awards in 2016 and 2019 when he was working at Asquith Park and Caddington Woods respectively, and was named ‘Site Manager of the Year’ three times.
Suzanne Irons, Sales Director for Redrow South Midlands, said:
“Since he joined us eight years ago, Hedley’s contribution to our developments has been nothing short of extraordinary, so we’re thrilled that his hard work has been recognised by the NHBC.
“His passion and commitment shines through everything he does, so it’s no surprise to see him end his time as site manager on a high as he moves to the next step of his career as Area Construction Manager.
“The Pride in the Job Award is something all site managers want to win, so to receive three really is a wonderful achievement and thoroughly deserved – well done Hedley!”
Commenting on his award win, Hedley said:
“The past eight years as site manager for Redrow have been a whirlwind, and I’m thrilled to have won a third NHBC Award.
“Every site is unique, and I’ve loved every moment spent shaping developments across the region and creating environments where families can thrive as part of my role as site manager. I’m looking forward to continuing to build high-quality homes for people to enjoy in years to come.”
Leestone Park offers the ideal balance of rural living with great connections to surrounding towns. The centre of Leighton Buzzard is just a mile and a half away from the development, and the handy train station means you can travel to Milton Keynes in less than fifteen minutes. In due course, there are also plans for a community centre to be built on the development, as well as an orchard and plenty of open spaces – making the location perfect for families.
