New arrival in town for online retailer

A new baby product showroom has opened in Wellingborough, following a ribbon cutting ceremony performed by the Mayor of Wellingborough, Cllr Jon Ekins.

Lilycuddles, which up until now has been an online only retailer, landed in Wellingborough in September with a three-day launch party.

The 2,995 square foot showroom, which is situated on the Park Farm Industrial Estate, stocks a wide range of baby products from brands including Egg, Oyster, Peg Perego, ABC Design, Britax and Ickle Bubba.

Lilycuddles was established by Solomon Soyinka and his partner Yetunde Adebayo in 2016 after the couple experienced difficulty in finding products when preparing for the birth of their own baby.

Solomon said:

“Our inspiration came about whilst we were expecting our daughter, Tami. As two excited, first-time parents, we were prepared to spend anything and everything in preparation for our daughter’s arrival. However, we struggled to find a store that provided us with a great shopping experience and a good variety of quality products and brands in different price ranges that we could choose from. Most importantly, we were unable to get a clear idea whether the products were really useful for us specifically. As busy parents we craved information and reviews from actual parents who had used the product, but the information provided by the retailers was just standard product descriptions.”

In December 2016, the couple decided to do something about it and established Lilycuddles as an online retailer, selling a huge range of baby products including pushchairs, nursery furniture, car seats, feeding equipment, changing bags, clothing, toys and much more via the lilycuddles.co.uk website. The website, and now the showroom in Wellingborough, aims to stock and sell a wide variety of brands, from budget to premium, to enable every parent to find what they are looking for at the price right for them.

Solomon added:

“We struggled to find the products we needed at the desired price and wondered how many other parents felt the same. We started to source products ourselves and built up some fantastic relationships with lots of different brands. Now, after years of selling online, we wanted to establish a bricks and mortar showroom that gives parents the opportunity to touch products and see them in action.”

The couple chose Wellingborough as a location for their baby product showroom after the closure of Mothercare and Babies R Us meant there was a demand in the area for a place for parents to go and shop for products for their family.

“We are so pleased to have finally opened our showroom – something that has been a vision of ours for some time now,”

said Yetunde.

“We look forward to welcoming lots of parents and expectant parents through our doors and showing them the fantastic products we have on offer.”
