New delights await guests as summer starts to make an appearance

Summer is just around the corner and it’s all systems go at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa to take full advantage of the warmer weather – with the same luxurious, comfortable options inside should the British climate have other ideas.

May sees the opening of the hotel’s Lawn Club, the outdoor bar which serves lighter summer dishes, snacks and drinks in the beautiful gardens; while work has been going on to refurbish the restaurant’s al fresco area so that the main menu options are available in the sun, too, should diners prefer.

Indoors or out, there are plenty of new things on the menu, all sourced locally wherever possible to provide fresh, seasonal dishes that offer something for everyone.

The Lawn Club is open for drinks between 4pm and 10pm on weekdays and midday to 10pm at the weekend and the kitchen team has devised a new menu for 2024, comprising lighter summer dishes, nibbles and snacks, which will be served from 4pm to 8pm during the week and midday to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Among the fare available are tempura tiger prawns with tartare sauce, burgers, salads and the hotel’s classic Thwaites beer battered fish and chips, along with sandwiches, a selection of side
dishes and something sweet to finish, including Cambridge burnt cream with shortbread biscuit, and rhubarb and white chocolate cheesecake.

The a la carte menu in the hotel’s One Rosette restaurant has been updated for the summer, too and features Thwaites rarebit sourdough as a small plate to nibble on while you wait, then starters including London dry gin cured salmon and watercress, pear, walnut and Colston Bassett Stilton salad. Among the main courses are pigeon breast with warm baby gem and bacon salad; slow cooked chicken breast with truffle mousse, potato terrine, spinach and oyster mushrooms with a white wine butter sauce; and Chef ’s recipe seasonal pie.

Andrew Hollett, General Manager at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa, said:

“We’ve been looking forward to the warmer weather and we’re sure our guests will have been, too. So, we’ve got some new menus for them to enjoy while they’re here, whether they prefer to eat inside or outside – the al fresco area has been refurbished and the Lawn Club is always popular, so let’s hope the sun shines and they’ll both get plenty of use over the next few months.”
