Northampton Town FC’s official club event to mark its 125th anniversary will take place at the County Ground where, appropriately enough, the club spent the first 97 years of its existence.
The gala evening on Sunday September 4 at 7pm will include a three-course meal and will be a celebration of the club’s 125th birthday with special guests, memories, anecdotes and much more. The club anticipates guest announcements will be made very soon.
Spaces at the event, in conjunction with official 125 partner All Things Business, are available now priced at £54 for a place at a bronze table, £58 for a place at silver or £650 for a gold table of ten and all prices include VAT.
The close season for any football club is often the busiest time of year. Jon Brady, manager of Northampton Town has been pleased with the club’s summer recruitment work, but says there is still more to do. Speaking just before the new season began, he said he was also pleased that the core of last season’s squad remains in place.
“It’s hard for a lot of teams at this level to keep that continuity but the fact we’ve kept a core group from last season is a real positive for us,”
he said.
“We have built around that group, and we have still got a bit to go. We feel that’s important for us to be competitive this season and we are working hard on that.
“We are working on a lot of things and to have strength in depth in the squad will be hugely important. A few of the players aren’t quite up to their levels yet with the season coming round pretty quickly. We have to try to hit the ground running on July 30 so the last few pre-season fixtures will be important to us.”
So, after a strong pre-season, the 2022/2023 season is under way.
