In the latest episode of All Things Business – The Podcast, Ben is joined by Matt Dann from Simply Techspace and Jon Bautista from Simply Workspace.
After its inception less than 2 years ago, the business is rapidly growing from strength to strength. With 20 members of staff, one office already outgrown and multiple international clients, business is booming for Matt and Jon.
Simply Workspace kits out offices with comfortable furniture and stylish displays, and then they pass the baton to Simply Techspace to rig it with top-notch telephony, Wi-Fi and screens. The result is a full office refurbishment, and very happy clients.
How the office landscape has changed
Ben asks Jon about how renovating offices has changed in the past few years since the pandemic. Many companies these days offer hybrid or remote working options for employees, but maintaining a pleasant office environment remains important.
Jon says that people want a homely and welcoming office space, and his team is keen to provide their creative expertise when executing a client’s vision. Both Matt and Jon find their work to be incredibly rewarding and love seeing a plan come to live.
Going where the work is
Northampton is a bustling hub for IT services, and Matt enjoys being part of such a rich community. He is also fortunate enough to take Simply Techspace’s services all over the country and even worldwide, spreading their wings to Belgium, Thailand, Italy and more.
Keeping people at the heart of the business
Matt and Jon have found the most challenging part of running the business to be delegation and letting go of the reins. But tackling this has led to great things and they emphasise the importance of keeping your employees a priority.
With incentives, group trips, regular socials, and an open dialogue about possible ideas, employees are integral to their business, and Matt and Jon believe that staff are the key to success.
