Providing a range of expertise that has all areas covered

From the very start, planning is at the heart of any successful project and a Northamptonshire business is providing the construction sector with the support it needs from the outset.

With clients that range from local colleges to teams working on HS2 and with Network Rail, Simply Techspace and Simply Workspace offer the solutions that make all the difference to the outcomes of a project throughout the process.

Simply Workspace provides expertise in configuring spaces to maximise efficiency, working with developers to draw up plans so that the needs of the end user are incorporated from the start and the building is eventually delivered ready to meet those requirements.

Similarly, Simply Techspace can advise on infrastructure, not just as part of the project management, but for the teams working out on site – ensuring connectivity that makes harnessing digital technology easy and efficient, wherever you happen to be.

Jon Bautista and Matt Dann brought together their two specialisms when they founded Simply Techspace and Simply Workspace in 2023.

Jon said: “Simply Workspace specialises in delivering solutions to clients who have spaces that need fitting out, from furniture to flooring, storage systems, partitioning and the like. Whether that’s new space or refurbishing or repurposing an existing one, what is important to us and our clients is we go in there at the earliest opportunity, well before work begins.

“If a business needs soundproofing for meeting rooms, or a suite of offices, or space for a particular purpose, it’s much easier to ensure that is taken into account at the very start, so when the project is complete, it’s absolutely fit for purpose.

“Matt and his team from Simply Techspace apply the same processes to assessing the space for cabling and connectivity, ironing out any potential issues from the outset.”

The projects the two division have been working on recently include the fitting out of a number of sites for a large, national self-storage company; working with a client involved with the HS2 project; the fitting out of a warehouse the size of four football pitches for a large telecommunications partner; and renovating a construction teaching space for one of the area’s most prominent colleges.

Input into the project itself is complemented by what Simply Techspace, a full-service IT company that provides software, hardware, cabling, telecoms, IT support and cyber security, can offer those working in the construction sector.

In an increasingly digital world, the likes of project managers, architects and surveyors rely on having access to data, plans and documents whilst out on site. External wifi, using heat mapping to identify the best areas for signal coverage, can be arranged so that clients can be sure data can be both uploaded and downloaded as and when they need it.

Matt Dann said: “We have clients that go onto site and use technology that takes measurements and gathers data, and they need to know that is being securely saved for when they need it.

“When clients are working with big organisations or on government projects like HS2, there’s often a requirement that data is stored and held for ten years. We can help them make sure they comply with that and everything they need is readily to hand at all times.

“In addition, it’s a tough environment at times out on building sites and we can provide ruggedised phones and tablets that are better suited to harsher conditions, and resist knocks, cold conditions, moisture, and offer prolonged battery life for when they’re being used in remote areas for long periods of time.

“And it’s not just about the kit, our team are on hand with support and solutions whenever we’re needed and wherever our clients happen to be.”

From the start, Simply Techspace and Simply Workspace have focused on sustainability, repurposing and recycling wherever possible. Expectations within the construction industry can be particularly high, with ESG targets that need to be met, so a more sustainable solution is a valuable prospect.

Jon Bautista said: “We’re always looking at how businesses can save money by choosing refurbished equipment or repurposing existing space or equipment, and by doing so not only reducing their spend but also lowering their carbon footprint.

“Our ethos from the start has been to work with the business community around us and support our clients and partners as best we can to bring their projects to completion in the most cost-effective and efficient way possible.”
