Putting the whole range of options on show

Ellievision AV boasts the knowledge and expertise needed to handle all aspects of staging a glittering event. Now, for those who don’t necessarily need the full package, the company’s move into purpose-built premises in Milton Keynes gives clients the opportunity to see for themselves the impressive range of what Ellievision AV has to offer.

The team, led by Heather and Tim Hannaby, specialise in innovative AV solutions that ensure events look good, sound good, and proceed without a hitch. State-of-the-art technology combined with years of experience provides clients with innovative concepts that create an event that is guaranteed to impress Ellievision AV’s customers and their audiences.

Having first outgrown the firm’s original offices, and then its warehouse space, Ellievision AV recently moved into a bespoke office and warehouse unit on the Crossinglands Business Park at Aspley Guise. The new premises not only allow storage of thousands of items needed to meet the needs of clients, but also include enough space to set up demonstration areas that showcase the range of options available.

The move came in the midst of a busy summer, particularly with the outdoor cinema side of the business, and while everything is now in its new home, in the near future the team plans to create a showroom that will help clients decide what they need to add the perfect touches to their events.

Heather said:

“We have invested heavily over the past couple of years, particularly in the outdoor cinema side of the business during and in the aftermath of the pandemic.

“This summer we did 32 cinema events supporting an experiential agency that were staging a summer roadshow campaigne for Aspall Cyder – providing the outdoor LED screen, creating a cinema experience for them from a simple working brief. This event took us all around the UK on call at each venue as the AV extension to their team.

“But people aren’t necessarily aware of the range of services we offer. We can take over the complete set-up of, say, a charity ball or an awards night, with stunning lighting, PA and audio, big screens etc – allowing clients to leave everything in our hands. But there’s also what we call dry hire, which is where someone may just want to hire a lectern and microphone for a presentation, or some staging or festoon lighting to transform a venue. We can provide all that, it’s not just the large projects.

“The company has grown over the past few years and we really needed more space, and so we created our own purpose-built premises and that’s opened up a lot of opportunities for us. If a client wants to discuss their options, we can invite them in for a coffee, show them round, explain what’s available and set up something so they can decide what will work best for them.

“Eventually, we will have a showroom area where people can take a look round and get ideas for how their event might look – even pick up on things they hadn’t realised were available to add those finishing touches.”

That will have to wait until the end of the year since the run-up to Christmas is traditionally busy for Ellievision AV, when the team is engaged to help stage indoor and outdoor events complete with twinkling festoon lights, town centre Christmas lights switch-ons and corporate events. Winter weddings are becoming increasingly popular and, despite the plunging temperatures, many couples want to use some outdoor space for at least part of their big day.

Having mainly focused on events and exhibitions prior to 2020, combined with a fledgling outdoor cinema offering, Ellievision AV was able to react to the restrictions of the Covid pandemic and invest more time and money in outdoor events once they were allowed under distancing guidelines. Those events have remained popular and are now a mainstay of the business, along with gala balls and awards events.

Recently, however, the Ellievision AV team have noticed the exhibition market returning to pre-pandemic levels and are relishing the chance to get involved again.

Tim Hannaby said:

“For obvious reasons, the exhibition sector dried up in 2020 and it seems to have been one of the slowest areas to recover, but we are seeing it start to get back to where we would expect it to be.

“It’s nice to be getting enquiries again, a lot of companies that weren’t able to diversify have suffered greatly over the past three years or so. We’re lucky that we were able to adapt and develop a new side to the business – but it’s fantastic that the exhibition enquiries are coming in again and we look forward to being back in that environment. I think 2024 is going to be a full-on and exciting year for us.”
