Invited guests at the Sponsors Event for this year’s Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards (NBEAs) and Northamptonshire Education Awards (NEAs) were the first to hear the news of two exciting hosts for this year’s events.
As reported in All Things Business last month, the TV presenter, comedian and actor Paddy McGuinness will be the host of the NBEAs, while the host for the NEAs will be TV presenter
Eamonn Holmes.
Eamonn presented ITV’s breakfast show GMTV from 1993 until 2005, moving to Sky News Sunrise where he stayed until 2016. He and his wife, Ruth Langsford co-hosted This Morning on Fridays for some years, and Eamonn is now a GB News breakfast presenter.
All Things Business Managing Director Ben Thomas announced the news to guests at the event at The Falcon in Castle Ashby in April. The drinks reception was organised to bring together those who are supporting the two awards events, which will be held in November.
The NBEAs, which include 14 categories, from Businessman and Businesswoman of the Year to the Innovation Award and Business of the Year, will culminate in a ceremony at The County Ground in Northampton on Thursday, November 10.
The following evening, the NEAs will be held at the Park Inn Northampton, where individuals and schools from across the county will be named winners in one of the 12 categories, which include School Business Manager of the Year, Environmental Champion of the Year and the STEM Award for 2022.
Hannah Eades, from sponsors David Williams IFA Mortgages and Insurance Services, sponsors of the Enivronmental Champion of the Year Award at the NEAs, said: “The event has been amazing today, the setting is incredible. It has been great seeing all the other businesses, meeting lots of people and getting to know more about the event.”
Reacting the announcement of the hosts, NEAs judge Ian Nicholas, Global Managing Director at recruitment giant Reed International, the sponsors of the Headteacher of the Year Award, said: “Good choice, high profile and both are someone that everyone can get behind. I think that’s what you need, someone that everyone can relate to.”
