Faye White Guest Appearance Inspires Female Footballers

Football sporting legend Faye White made a VIP visit to pledge her support for female players at Huddersfield Town Women Football Club.

The pioneering player, who has made it her mission to promote female football and make the game inclusive for all, made a star appearance at Huddersfield Town A.F.C. in her role as an ambassador for BK8, an official partner of the professional football club.

Former defender Faye, the longest-serving female captain of England to date, visited the club to meet players from Huddersfield Town Women FC team to share her inspirational insights and performance top tips during an exclusive question and answer session.

Faye then took to the pitch, this time to make a guest appearance in front of thousands of football fans prior to kick off of the HTAFC match against Bristol City, which was sponsored by BK8. Faye was also joined on the pitch by BK8 European Managing Director Michael Gatt.

Making it her goal to keep the woman’s game in the sporting spotlight on a global scale, Faye has dedicated herself to championing women’s football both on and off the pitch. Her visit to Huddersfield took place ahead of this year’s International Women’s Day.

Faye said:

“It was great to be able to visit Huddersfield Town football club and to meet with players from its women’s team. Seeing the game grow for girls and women and being able to help promote that is my passion. BK8’s support for women’s football aligns with my goals, helping to promote the game at a grass roots level and beyond.”

BK8 European Managing Director Michael Gatt said:

“We were delighted that Faye, who is part of our iconic team of ambassadors, was able to make a star appearance at the club. It was fantastic Faye could meet with female players at Huddersfield Town A.F.C. before the match, which BK8 was proud to sponsor.

“As part of our ongoing partnership with the club, BK8 were thrilled to have previously donated £15,000 to Her Game Too, with the charity also being promoted via screens and advertising boards during the BK8 sponsored match. The charity donation to Her Game Too, via Huddersfield Town A.F.C. to help boost women’s football initiatives, is one of the numerous ways BK8 is demonstrating its longstanding commitment to help empower women through grassroots football projects, alongside providing important support for mental health and wellbeing groups in local communities.”

Commenting at the time of the announcement of the club’s renewal of its partnership with BK8, Ian Birtley, Commercial Director at Huddersfield Town A.F.C. had said:

“The renewal of a partnership with BK8 is a really positive development for us, and crucially, it will help us strengthen the links between the football club, our women’s team and Her Game Too. The way in which BK8 have approached our partnership since day one has been wholly positive – and we are looking forward to developing the relationship over the course of this season and beyond.”
