What could be nicer than indulging in that summer classic – afternoon tea – in the beautiful outdoor surroundings of Kettering Park Hotel? The addition of a complimentary glass of fizz, that’s what.
Alongside the delicious array of sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries, during July and August Kettering Park Hotel will be offering a complimentary glass of rosé prosecco to make the event just a little more special.
Carefully created by the hotel’s kitchen team, afternoon tea is served from midday to 5pm and the typical menu will include finger sandwiches – smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese and glazed ham with rocket and Northamptonshire grain mustard – and a Lincolnshire pork and sage sausage roll with red onion chutney.
Something sweet, in the form of fruit and plain scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve, is always a favourite; as is the selection of afternoon seasonal mini pastries and cakes. Among the selection are Victoria sponge, Ferrero Rocher cube, a cherry macaroon and Eton Mess in a teacup.
All this is served with a pot of tea or coffee, as well as the complimentary glass of fizz, and costs £32.95 per person.
Whether you’re enjoying afternoon tea, drinks with family or friends, or want to enjoy Kettering Park Hotel’s tasty lunch menu, it’s always nice to make the most of the warm summer weather.
The hotel’s beautifully landscaped gardens are there to enjoy whether from the al fresco dining area, or, for an even more relaxed experience, at the Lawn Club.
The Lawn Club is an outdoor bar which is open for drinks between 4pm and 10pm on weekdays and midday to 10pm at the weekend. The kitchen team has devised a special menu comprising lighter summer dishes, nibbles and snacks, which will be served from 4pm to 7pm during the week and midday to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. There’s a selection of open and hot sandwiches and side dishes, prime beef rump burger, chickpea and chilli burger and Thwaites beer battered fish and chips, and all that can be followed up with a choice of desserts.
The Lawn Club bar serves a range of champagnes and sparkling white, red and rosé wines, beers, ciders and a selection of gins; and there’s also jugs of summer classics like Pimms Cup and Aperol Spritz with prosecco that are great for sharing.
Whatever the weather, Sunday lunch at Kettering Park Hotel is always popular, with its traditional roast dinner of beef or pork belly; or salmon or butternut squash Wellington. Each is accompanied by fresh seasonal vegetables and for those with room, there’s a choice of desserts. Sunday lunch is priced at £30.95 for adults and £15.50 for children.
