Reopening at last! And the team at Nuovo genuinely cannot wait. Whatever form that return takes Nuovo will be there, adapting to the new rules while striving to deliver the delicious cicchetti and decadent cocktails in the unique ambiance for which it has become known.
Nuovo is situated at the top of Abington Street, in one of Northampton’s old fine leather workshops – a unique building with high ceilings and contemporary décor that suits the Nuovo modern dining experience and relaxing vibe perfectly. The courtyard garden may well come into its own this summer for al fresco dining.
The Nuovo concept is inspired by Venetian cuisine. A style of food is known as cicchetti, which in Venice are small bites eaten alongside a glass of vino on a sociable evening. Nuovo has developed that concept, serving slightly larger plates in a similar style to tapas. All the food is freshly prepared and authentic.
Nuovo’s menu is supplemented with daily specials, a regularly changing fish of the day, and home-made ice creams. Now that lockdown restrictions are lifting, the chefs can’t wait to get back to creating the plates that earned Nuovo AA rosette recognition, as well as prestigious Northamptonshire awards, in 2019.
At Nuovo the team prides itself on attentive, unobtrusive service for all guests. The servers develop a wealth of knowledge to explain to guests how the concept of Nuovo works and relate the details of the mouthwatering specials. This won’t be any different when the restaurant reopens, and this has brought new challenges.
So, the restaurant has been working closely with COVID-19 safety partners Iris-IoT Solutions, to ensure everyone can safely dine at Nuovo. The measures they have developed, which are additional to the social distancing, masks, gloves and hand washing everyone is already familiar with, involve technology that works in the background helping to maintain and monitor air purity, body temperatures and cleaning policies. Iris-IoT Solutions, an innovative Northamptonshire company, has been tremendous in their efforts to help Nuovo resume as safely as possible.
