Milton Keynes Community Foundation enters into Recovery Phase of Emergency Funding

News | August 28, 2020

Milton Keynes Community Foundation enters into Recovery Phase of Emergency Funding

During the emergency phase of the grant programme Milton Keynes Community Foundation has supported local community groups with over 100 grants to the value of nearly £500,000. Support has included delivery of essential food items to the provision of mental health support to the most vulnerable people in our society.

It is now essential that Milton Keynes Community Foundation provides sustainable funding through the COVID-19 MK Recovery Fund to support voluntary, community and cultural sector (VCCS) organisations to recover from the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic which has impacted a lot of local groups detrimentally. Funding is available to support costs including loss of generated income, unplanned costs and adapting to new ways of providing support to vulnerable people in our community.

This fund is open to local community groups, with priority being given to organisations who work in the following areas:

– Poverty (especially Child Poverty)

– Mental Health

– Supporting Young People

– BAME (Black, Asian, Ethnic Minority)

– Domestic Abuse

– Disability

– Elderly

You can view the full grants policy, check your eligibility and apply on our website at: https://www.mkcommunityfoundation.co.uk/mk-recovery-fund-appeal-criteria

There is still a lot of work to be done in the community to help local community groups who need our help during these difficult times. Any donation to our Recovery Appeal will go directly back into our community and to the local groups who are working to help some of the most vulnerable people at this time. You can donate at: https://www.mkcommunityfoundation.co.uk/mk-emergency-appeal/donate/
