The awards will go on

There’s no doubt that this year’s awards season is going to be a special one for businesses celebrating getting through a year most would like to forget. Lockdown brought challenges, for some more than others, and often on a scale no one could have anticipated, but whatever 2020 has meant for your company, it’s time to recognise a year of achievements. November 5 will see Sir Trevor McDonald OBE host the third annual Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards at Northamptonshire Cricket Club’s County Ground. In associations with All Things Business, the awards will shine a spotlight on the hard working, talented teams in our county, the people who work hard for our community and those who inspire others.

Entries are still open to the exceptional businesses and businesspeople, from global companies based locally to exciting new ventures on the up, who make the county the success story it is.

Entries for the 12 categories need to be submitted by August 14 and entry and nomination forms can be found on the website. Categories include Apprentice of the Year (sponsored by Starting Off), Business of the Year (sponsored by Lambert Smith Hampton), Marketing Campaign of the Year (sponsored by Franklins Solicitors) and the Land & Development Award (sponsored by Moore).

All entries will be scored against a set of criteria and marked through a bespoke software-based scoring system and the shortlisted finalists will be announced on September 18 in preparation for the awards night in November.

The inaugural awards ceremony in 2018 saw a host of awards presented in what was a glittering celebration of business success in Northamptonshire. Among the winners were McManus Pub Co for the Brampton Halt in the Food and Drink Award, Fortitude Financial Planning in the Professional Services Award, Alex Goldsmith of Medigold Health as Businessman of the Year and Nicola O’Brien of ID Card Centre as Businesswoman of the Year. Ben Thomas from All Things Business said: “We’ve been delighted with the success of the awards over the past two years and given the challenges businesses have faced in 2020 we’re hoping for something bigger and better this year. Things have been tough, but now more than ever, we must make sure that the spirit, optimism and determination of the county’s amazing businesses is recognised and celebrated.”

Entry and nomination forms can be found and completed at the website
