Traditional goldsmiths reach finals in national wedding awards

The Goldsmithy Ltd, specialists in handcrafting bespoke jewellery, have been shortlisted for the ‘Best Wedding Jewellers’ category in this year’s National Wedding Awards.

The awards recognise the best wedding professionals across the nation by celebrating the companies and professionals that take care of the details to create unforgettable moments for couples getting married.

Established in 2008, The Goldsmithy was founded by Glenn Chapman, who has been handcrafting jewellery since 1972, learning his trade at Cartier London where he was the last trained small worker apprentice at Wright & Davis Ltd (Cartier London) creating luxury goods including wedding bands.

Glen says: “We are delighted to have been recognised for our craftmanship of wedding bands. We believe wedding bands represent a truly personal symbol of love that is as individual as the person wearing them, which is why we enjoy being able to handcraft wedding rings for couples in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.

“The centrepiece of a wedding day is the exchange of the rings, so having something handmade that will last forever is something that our customers find really special. Couples are able to design a ring that is completely unique to them and can also recycle unworn jewellery to use in their rings – some often incorporate family heirlooms to retain the sentiment of older pieces and recycle into a ring they will wear for a lifetime.”

Jess at Recognise Media comments: “National Wedding Awards is currently in its second year and recognises the hard work of everybody in the wedding industry, from bridal boutiques to the entertainment on the night. Our finalists are selected via a scoring system which is based on various different criteria. The Goldsmithy stood out because of its stance on recycling old jewellery, breathing new life into something that would otherwise be left on the side.”

From the shortlist, the winners and runners up from all 20 categories will be announced on Tuesday 2nd June at Athena, Leicester after a public vote. To vote for The Goldsmithy in the ‘Best Wedding Jewellers’ category, visit the National Wedding Awards website.*

The Goldsmithy is a traditional goldsmiths based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire crafting one-of-a-kind pieces of jewellery, each by hand including wedding bands, engagement rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, rings, pens and anything in-between. The Goldsmithy offers the rare opportunity for anyone having a piece commissioned to have a go at the bench – allowing clients to add their own personal mark to make the whole experience an extra special one.
