Bedford Blues Oktoberfest

News, Sport | October 7, 2020

Bedford Blues Oktoberfest

It might not be exactly like Munich, but Bedford Blues are hosting socially distanced Oktoberfest celebrations every Friday and Saturday throughout October!

Held in the Blues Marquee, the opening weekend is on Friday 2nd October from 6-10pm and over two separate sittings on Saturday 3rd October, between 12-5pm and 6-10pm. It’s the ideal chance to once again show your support and loyalty to the club, enjoying time out with family in a safe and secure manner.

Oktoberfest at Goldington Road will then remain open on these same days and times throughout the month for five successive weekends.

In line with Bedford Blues’ most recent COVID-19 risk management plan, they are only able to accept bookings for tables of four or six, allowing the club to stringently adhere to the latest government advice. The maximum capacity will be reduced to below 90 seated, instead of the normal marquee capacity of 300. All drinks and food will be table service only and masks are to be worn when entering the marquee or when visiting the toilets, but can be taken off whilst seated.

Entry into Goldington Road is priced at £10 for a table of four and £15 for a table of six; all bookings must be made IN ADVANCE of your chosen day. Unfortunately, they are not able to accept walk-ups.

To ensure safety for all staff and attendees, all payments will be CASHLESS. Benches will be socially distanced away from other groups and there will be a one-way system around the marquee.

On offer each day will be four German beers; alongside the usual Goldington Road favourites such as Estrella and Eagle IPA. There will also be a catering unit on site, serving a variety of German sausages, pretzels and more.

Access will only be allowed via the main Goldington Road gates with a strict one-way policy. There will be no parking available inside Goldington Road.

There are additional COVID related measures in place, including numerous hand sanitiser units and stations (condition of entry), random temperature checks on arrival, cleaning each morning of opening and between the two sittings on Saturdays plus other related regulations.

Attendees are unable to bring any food, drink, chairs, etc on site, bags are permitted, but may be searched.
