Panther Warehousing to host Open Day as it continues to expand team

Logistics, News | October 27, 2020

Panther Warehousing
Northampton-based two-man delivery specialists Panther Warehousing is hosting an open day on 31st October to recruit 20 warehouse operatives in order to continue delivering the highest levels of customer service for which they are renowned.
Panther has undergone a major recruitment drive in recent months after heightened demand for non-essential items over lockdown generated an increased requirement for their services. Only last month, created permanent roles for their Customer Service Advisors, Warehousing Team Leaders, Warehousing Operatives and Client Services as a direct response to this recent spike – with five outstanding roles yet to be filled.
The company’s latest response to this hike in demand has seen the dedicated two-man delivery and warehousing specialists create over 20 full time positions throughout the company since lockdown.
With unemployment rates hitting their highest level in three years, Panther’s commitment to bolstering its 400-strong workforce throughout the pandemic has indeed bucked this bleak trend sweeping the nation.
According to the ONS, the number of people in Northamptonshire claiming unemployment benefits continues to rise within the county, with figures rising from 4,245 in early March to 10,310 as of the first week in September.
The open day will comprise of a brief overview of the business, which will be followed by a site tour of Panther’s Lodge Farm site, so attendees can be shown the requirements of the job firsthand. There will also be the opportunity to meet with a Shift Manager for interview.
Vicki Barber Internal Recruitment Manager at Panther Warehousing commented: “To be able to host an open day at our Lodge Farm site in Northampton, at a time when job opportunities are few and far between not only within Northamptonshire but all across the UK is really exciting.
“The Coronavirus pandemic has generated a seismic shift in buying attitudes which has generated a huge increase in requirements for Panther’s services and the open day will allow us to not only enable the business to meet demand as we enter the peak but also help support our continued growth.”.
“It is certainly an exciting time at Panther and we are looking forward to welcoming the attendees on the day and to continue our recruitment drive further.”
