Meetings venue celebrating a national award

Wyboston Lakes Resort has been reinforced its status as an industry leading venue by winning the award for Best Mid-Sized Meeting Space at the hospitality industry’s CHS Awards.

The Bedfordshire-based conference, training and leisure venue was recognised in the category for venues with a capacity for between 51 and 499 delegates at the sixth CHS Awards, which took place virtually via Zoom on 27 October.

Louisa Watson, director of marketing at Wyboston Lakes Resort, said: “This award means so much to our team and this year more than ever. We are so delighted and enormously proud to be part of this great sector we call hospitality and events.”

The 380-acre resort, which boasts two conference venues, a four-star hotel, spa and golf course, has recently launched a hybrid events solution which enables organisers to host live events through a virtual platform and with up to 30 guests in person at the venue, as permitted by government guidelines. The resort has also been certified as a COVID-secure venue following accreditations from the AA, the Meetings Industry Association and Quality in Tourism.

Wyboston Lakes Resort is the largest, independently owned business and leisure destination in Northern Europe. It includes a four-star hotel and two purpose-built venues for conferences and training events, as well as a spa, restaurants and golf course. It is sited on 380 acres of Bedfordshire countryside between Cambridge and Milton Keynes, at the edge of the historic market town of St. Neots.

Its two specialist venues, The Woodlands Event Centre and The Willows Training Centre, offer a spectrum of options in terms of facility, space, style and budget. The Centres together provide a total of 65 conference, training and syndicate rooms – the largest of which has a capacity for over 600 delegates seated theatre style – and more than 400 bedrooms.

On-site leisure facilities are comprehensive, and include a full health and leisure club, and an 18-hole golf course.

The Waterfront Hotel has 103 en-suite bedrooms, an award-winning restaurant, the Y Spa and Golf. Serviced office space is available on the same site.

Centrally located close to the A1, M1 and A421 road networks and local railway links, Wyboston Lakes Restort is just 40 minutes by train from London and 45 minutes to Luton and Stansted Airport, and can be contacted on 0333 7007 666.
