Ready to develop services in a changing world

News | November 3, 2020

Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce

Matthew Cannon has joined Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce as Events, Communications and Marketing Manager.

Previously Commercial Manager at Wasps Rugby, Matthew joins at a time when the challenge is to keep businesses connected and business events happening in a time of virtual meetings and social distancing.

Matthew said: ‘’Having had a fantastic few seasons at Wasps Rugby I’m extremely excited about joining the Chamber. There’s so much potential across both Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire Chambers, and I’m keen to develop and expand the opportunities we offer our members.

“These are two great Chambers, with amazing businesses at their core; we’ve already increased the range and number of events available online with some great guest speakers, and this is only going to continue.”

Northamptonshire Chamber represents around 1,000 businesses who between them employ more than one third of the county’s workforce. Along with its sister Chamber, Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce, it has become one of the fastest growing Chambers in the UK.

Matthew added: “With services ranging from finance finder, business protection and bespoke training packages there are plenty of offerings the Chamber provides for our members, so I’m looking forward to working with all these businesses  and helping to make a positive contribution to the Northampton and Milton Keynes Business network.”

Across the UK, Chamber of Commerce act for businesses in all sectors to make sure their voices are heard within Government, opening new business opportunities in local, national and international markets, and providing critical business advice, services and skills development.

Regular meetings and events – actual or virtual – are an opportunity for members to come together to network, share experiences and advice, and to socialise.
