New branch to help meet demand

News, Property | November 30, 2020

A Northampton-based asbestos management company, Acorn Analytical Services, has expanded with the launch of a new office in Birmingham.

The firm, which already has bases in London and Yorkshire, has opened an office in Birmingham to cope with an ever-growing demand from customers in the area.

Acorn, which provides asbestos consultancy services including asbestos air testing, surveys, removal management and accredited training, began working on the expansion plan 12 months ago but the  new office opening was delayed slightly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new office will be led by consultant Joe Gore and will be staffed by people from the Birmingham area.

Director Neil Munro said:

“We’re thrilled to open our new office in Birmingham which will help us to better serve our clients in the city and surrounding areas.

“This is quite an achievement, particularly considering the challenges that so many businesses have faced this year. This is testament to the success of our business.

“During lockdown we continued to provide essential asbestos safety and compliance services to our hospital and local authority clients. We also continued to support clients who were midway through asbestos removal projects.

“We were in a very strong position going into lockdown which enabled us to come out strong on the other side.

“Our continued growth strategy and confidence in our market means we’ve been able to move forward on our plans to open our Birmingham office.”

Fellow company director Ian Stone added: “Our new office has enabled us to employ local people to service our existing clients in and around Birmingham. This allows us to introduce efficiencies and better response times. This in turn reduces costs, wear and tear on vehicles, travel time for our staff and further reduces our company’s carbon footprint.

“It also enables us to further implement our Acorn Asbestos Antidote which Joe is championing. This scheme takes firms at risk of asbestos-related prosecution and fines to full compliance with asbestos regulations and keeps their staff and clients safe from asbestos exposure.”
