The art of storytelling in a virtual world

News | November 30, 2020

With face-to-face meetings and interactions near impossible at this current time, the main touch points a customer has with a business are now almost entirely online. While this may not cause problems to the large well-known brands, removing that ‘personal’ element could, and is, having a devastating impact on businesses that rely on building trust and nurturing a relationship with their audiences.

Capturing your brand’s story and expressing the passion and the people behind the products and services you provide is still possible despite these challenging times and more and more businesses are turning to film and animation to reconnect with their customers and build on their brand loyalty.

Gavin O’Brien is the CEO at Clearhead in Luton and has seen a surge in enquiries for online content since the start of the pandemic.

“I think stories are more important than ever before; businesses are facing so many challenges at the moment and maintaining that emotion and brand personality is crucial,”

said Gavin.

“A good story can captivate the imagination and take the audience on a journey, elevating what could otherwise be a bland dissemination of information. We’ve been working with lots of clients who have never considered video content before and I think one of the positive things to come from COVID-19 is the innovation and openness from businesses to try new things.

“Video content provides a lot of opportunities and there are so many options available – whether you want to produce a film, TV advert or series of short animations to get your message across, there’s a creative approach to suit every project and budget without the need to compromise on quality.

“We’ve put every measure in place to try to ensure we’re the safest production unit in the UK. Of course, we’re not immune to the challenges COVID has delivered, as a video production agency we would normally spend our days on set surrounded by lots of staff and working in close proximity to our clients. We’ve had to adapt our approach like everyone else and incorporate new ways of working including the introduction of a COVID-safe filming procedure. This includes carrying out in-depth risk assessment forms, COVID production training, certified staff and ensuring PPE gear is worn at all times. We’ve put every measure in place to ensure we’re the most innovative and safest production unit in the UK, which helps put our clients’ minds at rest.”

We enable space for ideas to grow

Creative Chemistry is a philosophy at the centre of everything we create and how we ignite our ideas and we deliberately don’t ‘pitch’ to our clients. It’s only by listening and sharing ideas that we can really understand what they are setting out to achieve.

Creative content can and should increase loyalty and fulfilment with its audiences and being able to turn an initial idea into a piece of content that delivers engagement and return on investment for our clients is incredible.

We spend a lot of time making sure there is emotion at the heart of the film, we want to convey people’s passions, their drive and their spirit – we know that if an audience can connect on an emotional level, they become much more open to what you have
to say.”

Clearhead partners with ambitious brands aiming to grow and tell powerful stories with purpose to the right audience. From TV adverts and animations, to e-learning projects and online events – we’ll bring your story to life with passion and cutting-edge
technology.
